Those who want to work in Korea need to get the visa permitting employment in Korea. The visa permitting employment in Korea has specific limits related to the scope of work or employment.
Even those with a visa permitting employment in Korea shall work only in the designated workplace reported to a local or regional immigration office.
Visas for staying in Korea are classified into long-term stay visa, short-term stay visa and permanent visa depending on the length of stay.
Short-term stay visa : staying in Korea for less than 90 days.
Long-term stay visa : staying in Korea for over 90 days.
Permanent visa : no limit in the length of stay.
Those with a long-term stay visa or permanent visa shall register their status as a foreigner or report their place of stay in Korea within 90 days from the date when they arrive in Korea.
Foreigners can stay in Korea during the permitted period only provided that the qualification for stay is met.
Foreigners may participate in political activity unless otherwise specified in the laws.
To work in Korea, foreigners need to satisfy the qualification for working in Korea and shall work only in the designated workplace.
To change the designated workplace, foreigners shall get a permit from or report to the competent immigration office in advance or within a specific period.
